New Puppies! 1 Day Old (Genna and Blaze)
Genna and Blaze puppies are here! She delivered 11 beautiful puppies on January 18th. It was a long delivery but went very smoothly. Genna is doing amazingly well with her big crew. She is eating boiled chicken and rice mixed with some kibble, drinking lots of water, getting lots of rest, and snuggling all of those babies! The puppies are eating well, gaining weight, and sleeping when not eating. We have two luscious, shiny black puppies, one yummy chocolate, and eight gorgeous caramels and apricots. What is the difference in caramel and apricot and why haven’t I given a specific number of each? The difference is in the pigmentation of the nose, lips, and eye rims. Caramel puppies will have pink (or liver) colored noses, lips, and eye rims, while apricot will have black colored noses, lips, and eye rims. It takes 1-2 weeks for the pigmentation to develop (turn black) in the apricots so we do not know yet which puppies or how many will be each, but can assume we have both given what we know about genetics and probability.
